VoIP phone system

What is VoIP?
Voice over Internet Protocol (or simply VoIP) uses the Internet as the 'wire' to send your telephone calls, instead of the copper wires that has been in use for the last century. The equipment such as telephone handsets, look and feel and operate the same as the traditional telephones, but by utilising your existing broadband internet connection, they can communicate with other telephones at dramatically reduced cost, or even for free.

Essentially, VoIP is about significant cost savings coupled with many more features than traditional phone systems offer. It allows you to take control of your business telephony system and decide how it can best be used to benefit your business.
Up until now, VoIP has really only been accessible to large enterprises, or companies that have dedicated IT support personnel. As with all technology, it's been steadily improving, and the cost of hardware dropping. Coupled with massively improved Broadband speed and reliability, even SMEs and SOHOs can now leverage the benefits and flexibility that up until now the big guys have been enjoying.
